441 Teaching Well-Being as a Skill

11:00 AM - 11:45 AM PT
Thursday, November 18

McKinsey had already begun working to address mental health and well-being needs long before the pandemic hit in 2020. The crisis created an urgent need to quickly scale existing wellness solutions, expedite ongoing change efforts, and identify issues and implement solutions as new needs arose. We needed agile and innovative solutions that blended existing assets with externally available resources. In this session, we share how the learning team led the way: Compiling a library of training programs that support the development of skills that help people maintain and improve their physical and mental health while furthering conversations around the importance of mental health. To better meet constantly evolving needs, the team created a library of curated tips, tricks, and resources to address a variety of mental health and well-being topics from stress management to maintaining optimism in times of uncertainty.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to align stakeholders across multiple functions, representing different but related business needs, on a learning solution
  • Approaches for supporting the development of well-being-related skills
  • Approaches for opening lines of communication in order to identify evolving needs and impact of solutions that have been implemented
